The International Arbitration Conference
The CRCICA - Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration in collaboration with the Arab League and the United Nations organized an International Conference in Cairo on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards.
Prominent speakers and renowned practitioners - from different parts of the MENA region and from Europe - were invited to share their experiences in the realm of international arbitration, with the various attendees. Esteemed practitioners, judges and lawyers attended from the MENA region as well as representatives from the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
The conference aimed, among other topics, at identifying the challenges facing an ever-evolving commercial and legal environment in the midst of the diversity and implementation of domestic laws to resolve cross-border disputes. Topics such as the resolution of disputes in relation to foreign direct foreign investment (FDI) and amicable settlement initiatives have been the subject of thorough debates in the course of the conference.
