Sarieldin & Partners, the legal counsels to the Egyptian Basketball Federation (EBF) announced the ruling of the Cairo Court of Cassation a few hours ago, declaring the nullity of the arbitral award issued by the Egyptian Sports Settlement and Arbitration Center against the EBF, cancelling the election results of the board of directors of the EBF held on 26 August 2017. This ruling ended the 7-months dispute and declared the validity of the actions taken by the EBF board of directors chaired by Dr. Magdy Abou Frekha and the continuation of the board of directors as formed .

Sarie Eldin & Partners Legal Advisors represents the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports for the establishment of the largest dry port in 6th of October City with 720 containers per day The first phase of the port will be built on 100 acres with a value of 100 million dollars

March 18th ,2018 Sarie Eldin & Partners, in collaboration with Allen & Overy law firm, are advising the General Authority for Land and Dry Ports, in its project of financing, design, construction and operation of the largest dry port in 6th of October city. The Project will be a 24-hour dry port with design capacity of 720 Twenty Foot Equivalent Units (“TEU”) per day, with an investment value of 100 million dollars and construction will begin in the last quarter of 2018.

The government has allocated a total area of 400 acres in the 6th of October city for the construction of a dry port with a logistics area. The area was divided into a first phase of 100 acres for the development of the dry port that includes a customs clearance unit for containers coming from Alexandria and Dekheila ports, and it is the area that Sarie- Eldin & Partners is preparing the legal consultancy for. The second phase is located on an area of 300 acres and will be fully allocated to establish a logistic center for storage and service containers after the completion of customs procedures.

"We are currently preparing the legal consultancy for the project (the first phase 100 acres) and we are currently finalizing the Tender Documents, including the draft PPP contract to be concluded between the General Authority for Lands and Dry Ports with the winning bidder." Added Dr. Sarie Eldin

The strategic location of the Project, close to the industrial zone of 6th of October City and the heart of Cairo City, allows the transfer of part of container traffic between the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila from road to railway network which allows reducing the burden on the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, as the Dry Port provides storage and customs clearance services.
